Yá'át'ééh, my name is Laura Clelland.

I am from Cottonwood Springs on the Navajo Reservation. Until recently, the most prominent landmark in Cottonwood Springs was a large, old cottonwood tree that used to provide shade to my grandmother while she herded her sheep as a young girl. My grandmother told me stories about the tree and how it remained big and beautiful as she grew older.

My company, Salt Woman LLC, is inspired by my family. It is named after my maternal side of the family, the Salt clan. The sunflower colors I use reference my grandfather’s name, “Sunflower” in Navajo. And my journey as a professional foot care specialist started after doctors contemplated amputating my diabetic father’s big toe. As a result, I obtained my pedorthic certification in 2006. As I began to see clients, I saw more needs for foot care in my community. So I pursued a laser technician and nail technician license so that I could trim toenails and treat toenail fungal toenails. Through my studies I was exposed to the benefits of reflexology to relax the body, improve circulation, and bring the body back into homeostasis. Each of my licenses and certifications complements each other to achieve a central balance for maintaining your feet for life. I look forward to meeting you!
